Red Ribon Club is an international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness. Since 1991 Red Ribon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in educational institutions through which students will be made aware about AIDS.
It is youth initiative on HIV/AIDS December Ist is observed as World AIDS Day to emphasize solidarity and support for people living with H.I.V.
RRC, M.G. Kashi Vidyapith
To promote awareness in youth and community against HIV/AIDS National Service Scheme , M.G. Kashi Vidyapith has been endowed with the responsibility of formation of 30 Red Ribon Clubs in university and affiliated colleges. Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, M.G.K.V.P., Dr. Prithvish Nag inaugurated these clubs on 24th September, 2013 on the occasion of NSS day.
Objectives / Vision of RRC
1. Empowerment of students by giving them information and life skills to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS.
2. Organize HIV/AIDS awareness activities at regular intervals in the universities & colleges.
3. Motivate youth by developing the skills of leadership, negotiations and team building & inculcate in them the spirit of helping & supporting people living with HIV/AIDS.
